A Lightning Rod is required with all buildings. The cable for the rod will run in a PVC pipe that will run on the perimeter wall (preventing chance of electrocution), and will terminate at the ground rod that will be below the ground (about 1 meter deep). This will reduce the chance of fire from lightning as the lightning strike is more likely to hit the rod rather than the roof. Since all new constructions will require flat roofs, the rod is anchored in a way to reduce the chance of falling in a wind storm. Any building without a rod is recommended to acquire a lightning rod as soon as possible to protect the building, however new construction will require a sufficient height rod.
